News Update:  We are currently without a regular sailing venue in the Cambridge area.  If you are aware of any lakes, reservoirs or large ponds around Cambridge that might be suitable, we would be very pleased to hear from you.  P
lease contact Nick Lee (leerally@aol.com, 07802 804065).  Model yacht racing doesn’t  need much water, about 100m square with a depth of 0.5m is all that is required.

In the meantime our members are sailing at other East Anglian clubs and occasionally at Lackford Lakes Sailing Club, near Bury St Edmunds.

ModelBoat 34Welcome to the website of Cambridge Model Yacht Club. We are a group of enthusiasts who enjoy the challenge of yacht racing yachts but prefer to keep our feet on dry land and our clothes dry (except when it rains). We race yachts conforming to the International One Metre class, the most popular model yacht racing class worldwide.

Nick-webWhile model yachting can be very competitive, serious and expensive at the national or international level, we race for fun and enjoyment rather than prizes. We sail most Sunday mornings and welcome visitors who would like to learn more about the sport.
